Natalie grew up in Massachusetts and Cliff grew up in both Haiti and Massachusetts, but their paths wouldn’t cross until after they had finished college and they both took jobs with advertising agency Hill Holliday in Boston. Three years later on Christmas Eve, they were visiting Natalie’s family in Maine, a place that had become their getaway, when Cliff surprised Natalie with a ring and a proposal. When it came to planning their wedding, Maine was the obvious choice for a destination wedding— providing a scenic, coastal, and private, escape from New York City, where their careers had later taken them. For Cliff’s family, many would be making the trip from Haiti, some for the first time, and Maine offered the perfect New England charm to welcome them. They were married in October when the leaves were at their peak, offering a rich backdrop of color up on the Summit at Point Lookout, with views of Penobscot Bay and surrounding coastal islands.
To Natalie and Cliff, thank you for being such a memorable couple for me — from meeting you in Boston for your engagement photos, to meeting your friends and family and witnessing your celebration in Maine, I feel honored to know you and to have played a small part in your wedding day. I hope these images will always remind you of the day you committed yourselves to each other as husband and wife on a summit in Maine.
